At about 4.55 pm on Friday 25th July 2008 a male entered Panama Street Postshop in Wellington, and demanded money from the cashier, threatening that had a weapon.
The cashier put an amount of money into an envelope, and the male grabbed then envelope and ran from the shop, turning left outside the front door and running towards Featherston Street.
The male is described as
Male
White
23 or 24 years old
around 1.85 tall
long skinny face
visible cheekbones
sunken eyes
beard and moustache, not big but clearly visible.
He wore a black puffer jacket with the hood over his head. The hood had a fur trim which may have been a brown or grey colour. He may have been wearing blue jeans.
Police are seeking any witnesses to the incident or to any sightings of a man matching the description in the area of Panama or Featherston Street and ask that anyone with information about this crime call Detective Sergeant John van den Heuvel at the Wellington Central Police Station on 04 381 2000.
