Operation Corricvale - 42 Hours Since Abduction

1 min read

Police investigating the abduction of five year old Cina Ma, aka as Xin Xin Ma from her home in Harrowglen, Albany, say they have serious concerns for her safety.

Detective Inspector Steve Wood of the Waitemata District CIB says it is now more than 42 hours since the young girl's abduction and strenuous efforts to find Xin Xin are being made by all policing staff involved in this investigation.

"There is no change in the status of the investigation. We are meticulously working through a large number of enquiries."

"Our No 1 priority is focused on finding this child and ensuring that Xin Xin gets back to her parents safely and unharmed."

"The nature of this investigation is such that it is not appropriate to release details of our current enquiries at this time. When there is information that we believe needs to be released publicly we will most certainly do so."

"Investigators are using every resource available to them and there has been enormous support to this operation from all sectors of the general community and other agencies."

"The police must consider the Xin Xin's safety in every detail that we make public. This is precisely what we are doing," Inspector Wood said.

A Press Conference will be held later this morning.
