A 39 year old unemployed man of no fixed abode has appeared in the Waitakere District Court today after an incident two weeks ago in which a teenage couple were viciously attacked and assaulted in Henderson.
Waitakere CIB staff arrested the wanted man early this morning.
He's been remanded in custody. He'll reappear in Waitakere Court Monday.
The numerous charges include sexual violation, abduction, kidnapping, threatening to kill, aggravated wounding, and aggravated burglary.
The penalties for these offences range from five to twenty years imprisonment.
Police say this man's arrest is extremely gratifying. The two teenage victims a male and a female, continue to remain traumatised by their ordeal.
Police thank the media and the general public for their assistance. Valuable information was provided to the investigation team. This led to this offender being apprehended quickly preventing him from offending further.
