A man will appear in the Hamilton District Court this morning following the robbery of a bank in the city yesterday.
Detective Sergeant Neville Ross said a man entered the Victoria St North branch of Westpac about 11.35am and passed over a note demanding money to a female teller.
"He then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash," he said.
Identifying the offender by mid afternoon officers armed with a search warrant visited a Hamilton home looking for the person they believed was responsible.
"He was found on the balcony of a dwelling looking down on Police searching his home," said Mr Ross.
"As a result a 43-year-old Hamilton man will appear in court this morning on a variety of charges including robbery and breach of bail."
