Offender sought over tourist assault, Cashel / High Street, Christchurch

1 min read

Police have identified people who were in the area of Cashel and High Street near where eight tourists were assaulted on Saturday, 12 April 2008.

While Police would like to identify the people it is in no way implied that they were responsible for the assault.

Detective Senior Sergeant David Harvey asks that the individuals in the photographs released should come forward and identify themselves, or if anyone knows the identity of these people, they are asked to contact the Christchurch Central CIB on direct dial 03 363 7559.

This was an unprovoked attack on the tourists and Detective Senior Sergeant Harvey asks that any assistance the public can supply would be well appreciated.

Photos will be posted with this media release on the Police website shortly.
