1 min read

Police are looking for a Toyota ute that was stolen from a Dargaville address in the early hours of this morning.

About 5am the vehicle's owner heard the Ute being driven off. He then got into another vehicle and followed the stolen vehicle.

The owner managed to locate the stolen ute near Kaihu. However, the driver used the stolen ute to ram the owner off the road. The ute was last seen at 8am heading north on State Highway 12 towards Omapere.

The stolen ute is a 1994 silver Toyota Hilux 2.8 SR5 (twin cab well-side), registration number TA828. It has a 1000 litre water tank in a steel frame on the back.

If anyone has information on the location of the ute, they can contact Detective Sergeant Jonathan Tier at Dargaville Police on 09 439 3407 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
