Police speak to people over stabbing incident

1 min read

Christchurch police have spoken to the people they were seeking in relation to an incident on Sunday night in which two men were stabbed.

This morning police executed search warrants at three Christchurch addresses, in Addington, Cashmere and Spreydon.

Three people who were being sought by police were located and spoken to in relation to the incident.

Two people, a 38 year-old woman and a 42 year-old man, were arrested and charged on matters unrelated to the stabbing.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Archer says investigators are now satisfied that they have spoken to the people involved in the incident.

“Our enquiries are continuing, but at this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbing,” he says.

“No decision has been made yet on whether any charges will be laid over the incident.

“Our focus right now is on establishing a clear picture of what has taken place, and what role the different parties involved have played.”

Police would still like to hear from anyone with information about the incident outside an address in Clare Road, St Albans, in which two men received serious stab wounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Grant Collins at Christchurch Police on (03) 3637400.

Alternatively, to provide information information anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
