Christchurch Police have released the name of the cyclist killed in a crash in Wainoni this morning.
She was Joanne Marjorie Drummond, aged 54, of Christchurch.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Breezes Road and Wainoni Road shortly after 9.00am this morning.
Initial enquiries indicate the cyclist was struck by a car which was turning from Wainoni Road into Breezes Road.
Enquiries into the crash are continuing, and Police say it is too early to speculate on the cause of the incident.
Police expect to formally interview the driver of the car involved later this week. Several witnesses to the crash have provided statements to Police.
The intersection was closed for a short time this morning but cordons have now been removed.
