In a case of a family that grows together goes to court together, a mother, her daughter and the daughter's partner all face drugs charges following a successful operation by Waikato Police today.
Hamilton Tactical Coordinator, Senior Sergeant Freda Grace said City officers conducted simultaneous searches of homes in Pukete and Tokoroa this morning.
"The search warrants related to illegal cultivation of cannabis and resulted in considerable success with 56 large, mature cannabis plants discovered at the Pukete address and around 80 plants found in the Tokoroa home.
"In addition a large television stolen in a burglary of a home on Hamilton's Peachgrove Rd two years ago was recovered along with $2000 cash at the Pukete home while a large scale electricity theft was revealed at the Tokoroa property."
Ms Grace said the 55-year-old occupier of the Tokoroa address was arrested along with the occupants of the Pukete home, her 25-year-old daughter and her 26-year-old male partner.
"The mother was in Hamilton visiting the younger couple at the time of the trio's arrest and all three will face drug cultivation charges.
"One of the real successes to come from this operation is the Police being able to act in a timely manner on information received from the public, in this case via Crimestoppers. Results such as this speaks volumes for Police maintaining a variety of channels which the public can engage with us from front counter interaction, facebook pages, emails and of course the independent Crimestoppers."
