A woman missing in bush near Murupara overnight has been found safe and well.
The 47-year-old woman was part of a group of 10 people who were walking and running around a loop track in the Whirinaki Forest Park. When she did not arrive back at the car park emergency services were called and a search was launched.
At approximately 12.45pm this afternoon the woman was located by a waterfall close to the track about 8km south of Minginui.
The woman is cold and hungry but otherwise unhurt. She is still to be spoken to in any detail but it appears at this stage that she may have taken a wrong turn, becoming separated from the rest of the party. She was located by a team of search and rescue personnel who had searched overnight until 4.30am and had resumed searching later this morning after a few hours rest.
They were one of four teams involved in the search including Police personnel, search and rescue volunteers, a mountain bike team and friends of the missing woman.
