An aggravated robbery has taken place early this morning (27 November 2012) at a Joblins Road property in Levin.
One of the three occupants at the property was woken at around 5:45am after he heard noises outside the house. After getting up to see what the noise was, he discovered five people in balaclavas attempting to break into the property.
The three occupants, one female and two male, were tied up and had their house searched by the male offenders. One of the male occupants was assaulted and suffered facial injuries. He did not require medical treatment.
"After the offenders left the property one of the victims managed to free themselves and call Police," says Detective Sergeant Peter Vine.
The offenders took cash, two rifles, a shotgun, ammunition, personal effects, and one of the victim's vehicles.
"We believe the offenders arrived at the property in a vehicle and left in this vehicle and the victims," says Detective Sergeant Vine.
"We cannot disclose at this stage the amount of cash that was taken from the property."
The victim's vehicle is a 2009 black Holden Colorado, registration EZP335.
"We are currently investigating this matter and ask anyone that has any information about this incident to please contact us."
