Historic footage released

1 min read

A two-minute video clip of a re-enactment of the last night Jane Furlong was seen on Karangahape Rd is available to view on the Police website via this link - http://www.police.govt.nz/featured/furlong-investigators-release-histori...

The clip - authorised for release by Television New Zealand - was part of a 1993 Crime Watch programme and featured an actor as Jane while her boyfriend, Danny Norsworthy, played himself.

Officer in charge of the homicide investigation, Detective Inspector Mark Benefield, said he hoped that the footage might jog the memories of some who view it and spur them on to contact Police with information about what happened to Jane.

Jane Furlong was 17 when she went missing in late May 1993. Her skeletal remains were found 19 years later - on May 19 2012 - at Sunset Beach, Port Waikato.

Anyone with information should contact the Op Darlia investigation team on 0800 675 263, visit the "What happened to Jane" Facebook page, e-mail furlong@police.govt.nz or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Follow on Twitter with #janefurlong
