Henderson CIB detectives are investigating a home invasion in the suburb of West Harbour, West Auckland, earlier today.
Police say that about 0500 hours this morning, two males forced their way into a residential property and tied the male occupant with masking tape.
The victim was the owner of the property.
The two offenders were armed with a sawn off shotgun and an axe.
Both were wearing balaclavas.
They threatened the victim and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim is shaken by the incident, but is not injured.
Police have issued a description of the two offenders.
MALE [1] is of medium build. 5'6" in height.
MALE [2] is of medium build. 5'8" in height.
The two offenders then left the property in the victim's truck.
Police are appealing to the public for sightings of this missing vehicle. It is a dark green and silver Mitsubishi Triton truck with a green canopy.
The truck has "A J GUNDY LTD" clearly painted in white on rear window.
The vehicle has personalised plates "AJAYS1".
Anyone who has information on this vehicle or knows its present whereabouts is asked to call Henderson CIB immediately on 839 0600.
Police say neither the vehicle nor its occupants should be approached.
This morning's incident is one of three in West Auckland this week.
Police say that about 1.30am Wednesday 4 June 2007, three male offenders in their 30's used a baseball bat to smash their way into a residential property in the suburb of New Lynn.
Two occupants a male and a female were inside the house.
The noise of the three offenders alerted the occupants. They went to the security access at their front door to investigate the commotion.
The three offenders inferred they had been in a car crash and sought help. The occupants declined. After forcing entry with the baseball bat the three offenders trashed the kitchen. The occupants fled their address to a nearby Service Station where they called Police.
During the incident a handbag with a small amount of cash was stolen.
This was later located by Police in Tiverton Road, Avondale.
The three offenders are described as Polynesian, aged in 30's of medium build. They left the crime scene in a dark coloured Mitsubishi Galant or similar type vehicle. Police are continuing their inquiries.
In a third incident two male offenders entered a property in Massey.
After an altercation with the owner inside the house, the two offenders hurriedly left the property.
