Waitakere CIB has launched an investigation into the abduction and sexual assault of a 13 year old girl in Glen Eden on Saturday the 30th of June.
At about 2.00 pm on Saturday the young girl was walking along West Coast Road near Bowers Road in the Glen Eden Shops when she was approached by a male driving a small silver car.
The male asked the young girl for directions and then insisted that she get into his car and show him the place that he was looking for.
The young girl has then been driven towards the Titirangi, Laingholm and Woodlands Park areas.
While in the car the young victim has been physically and sexually assaulted.
She has been threatened during the ordeal which lasted about 45 minutes.
The male then dropped the complainant off near the intersection of Woodvale Rd and Ambler Ave before driving off towards Woodglen Road.
The young girl then ran to a friend's house and the Police were subsequently called.
COMPLAINANT:
The complainant is a slim girl with distinctive coloured, long straight hair. She was wearing blue jeans and a light jacket.
VEHICLE:
The vehicle is described as a small to medium sized silver sporty car. The seat coverings were black fabric. The vehicle is believed to be an automatic and has electric windows. It was in a very tidy condition inside and out.
There were a large number of keys attached to the ignition key along with a drivers licence in a plastic sleeve.
SUSPECT
The suspect has been described as:
Male, Pacific Islander
Good English but noticeable accent
Approximately 183 cm
Large/fat build
Unshaven
Approximately 35-45 years old
Police are seeking information from members of the public who may have seen a vehicle and its occupants fitting these descriptions in the West Auckland suburbs of Glen Eden, Titirangi, and Woodlands Park on the afternoon of Saturday the 30th of June 2007.
Police are also seeking information about any other incidents of a similar nature where the descriptions or the method of approach used indicate that the same offender may be responsible.
Police recommend to all parents that they reaffirm to their children the importance of keeping themselves safe, and report any approaches by strangers or persons unknown to them
