Police investigating Richmond fires

An investigation is under way as to the cause of two fires at a Richmond, Nelson, address overnight.

A house and a garage in Champion Road were destroyed by separate fires.

The occupants of the house were not home at the time and there have been no injuries. However, the house has suffered irreparable damage.

Fire safety investigators, forensics staff and the CIB are investigating.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has information that may relate to the fires and anyone who was in the Champion Road area about 9.30pm yesterday.
