Waikato Police are crediting media coverage as a driver behind a man wanted on a number of warrants to arrest for breaching supervision orders giving himself up in the Central North Island overnight.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton of the Hamilton CIB said the 39-year-old man gave himself up to officers at the Wanganui Police Station yesterday evening.

"We would like to thank the media and members of the public who profiled this man's case and provided information on the man's movements leading up to his arrest."
