A 25-year-old Timaru man will appear in the Timaru District Court charged with murder following the discovery of a body in a residential street in Timaru in the early hours of Friday morning.
The deceased was removed from the scene last night and taken to Christchurch for a post mortem examination to determine the cause
of death.
The details of the deceased will not be released at this stage until permission is obtained from the Coroner.
Staff will continue to work on the investigation over the weekend.
