Attempted robbery at Onepu Road Dairy

Last night at about 8:30pm there was an attempted robbery at the Onepu Road Dairy, 142 Onepu Road, Lyall Bay.

Two men entered the store and confronted the shop owner. One of the men yelled at the shop owner to give him some money while the other said that he had a weapon in his pocket. The men held out a black school type bag and told the owner to put money into it.

The store owner was able to ring 111 before the offenders were able to take anything.

Both men then left the shop on foot, running into Wha Street and then right onto Palm Street.

The two offenders have been described as:

1. Male, approximately 6'2" - 6'3" tall and of skinny build

20 - 25 years old

Wearing a black top with a hood

He had something covering his face with only the eyes showing

2. Male, approximately 5'8" tall and of skinny build

20 - 25 years old

Wearing a dark blue top with a pocket on the right side

Had a blue bandana over his face with only the eyes showing

Was carrying the black school type bag

Both males had voices which sounded like young Maori males.
