Man sought in connection with Whanganui shooting

Police in Whanganui have issued a photograph of a man they are urgently seeking in connection with a firearms incident in Hylton Street, Aramoho on Thursday afternoon.

Dolphy Tetawhero Kohu is wanted after a shotgun was discharged several times during a dispute. One person received pellet wounds but their injuries are not life threatening.

Kohu is aged 20 years, 185 cm tall with dark hair with shoulder length dread locks. He is possibly wearing rugby league shorts.

Police believe the incident is isolated but describe Kohu as armed and potentially dangerous and he should not be approached by members of the public.

He could be in the Whanganui or Ruapehu area. A vehicle that he is possibly using is a Silver Mitsubishi Galant Registration WH1478.
