The District Commander for the Canterbury Police District, Superintendent Sandra Manderson has been appointed to the post of New Zealand Police Liaison Officer in Washington.
In announcing the appointment today, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rob Pope said, from her current position as District Commander Canterbury Superintendent Manderson had accepted the opportunity to enhance her knowledge and experience of policing in the international environment.
She will take over from the current liaison officer in Washington, Superintendent Neville Matthews, in late October.
"Superintendent Manderson and the Canterbury District have turned in highly creditable performances over the last five years and the results speak for themselves.
I am sure she will be an equally high performer in representing New Zealand Police's interests in the US capital," said Mr Pope.
