A 31 year-old street dweller was arrested by Auckland City Police last night and he will appear in the Auckland District Court today charged with the assault - on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning - of a 53 year-old man near the corner of Queen St and Mayoral Drive.
The victim is still in hospital in a serious condition due to head injuries received when he was bashed.
