Driver interviewed

1 min read

The Auckland City Police Serious Crash Unit has interviewed the driver of the Stagecoach bus believed to have been involved in the Wednesday morning death of 53 year-old Chinese national Rongfa Jiang, who died after receiving fatal head injuries on Dominion Rd.

Sergeant Matt Ford says the driver has given Police his version of events in a signed statement.

"We won't be discussing his statement publicly aside from to say we're happy with the level of co-operation we've received from the driver, his employer and supporters," Mr Ford said.

"We've still got a lot of work to do on the investigation into Mr Jiang's tragic death and that includes speaking to all 20 of the witnesses we've located since the incident."
