Police are keen to trace a woman who used an ATM machine in Pahiatua on Saturday night and may have information that will assist a home invasion investigation.
At approximately 7pm on Saturday (5 November) two men and a woman, forced their way into the home of a 65-year-old man in Dawson Street Pahiatua.
The victim was assaulted and then driven by one of the male intruders to the ANZ in Main Street, Pahiatua and forced to withdraw some cash. A woman was at the ATM at the time and the victim tried to indicate to her that he needed help, but his attempt didn't work.
After withdrawing a small amount of cash from the machine he was taken back to the house and the three offenders then left taking the victim's TV, stereo and more cash from the house. It is believed that they were using a red car, possibly with a black roof.
The victim then raised the alarm and was taken by ambulance to hospital in Palmerston North where he was treated for minor head and chest injuries before being discharged. One of the three intruders was known to the victim. No weapons were involved.
Yesterday (Monday, 7 November) a warrant was executed at an address in Pahiatua and a 20-year-old woman was arrested. She has been charged with aggravated robbery and will appear at Palmerston North District Court today.
Police are still looking to identify and locate the two men involved in the incident and would like to hear from the woman who was at the ATM machine on Saturday night who would have seen a thick set Maori in his 30s with the 65-year-old European victim. Police also want to hear from anyone else who knows anything relevant to this investigation.
