Don't let the demon drink drown your chances of seeing the rugby.
That's the message from Police in Palmerston North after a number of people were evicted or refused entry at last night's game between Romania and Georgia.
Inspector Pat Handcock said: "Fans should be under no illusion that we not allow heavily intoxicated people inside the grounds. There was clear evidence last night that some were fuelling up before they arrived at the game, and that is the fastest way to miss the match."
A total of five people were refused entry into the game. A further five were evicted; two prior to kick off, one just after half time and two towards the end of the game. Palmerston North has one more game remaining between Argentina and Georgia on Sunday afternoon.
"The game being on a Sunday afternoon presents a great opportunity for a real family affair. We will not tolerate the enjoyment of the majority being marred by the excessive drinking of a minority," said Insp Handcock.
