Hamilton Police officers got more than they bargained for when they went to process a suspended driver for excess breath alcohol and he began to strip off of his own accord, dropping a bag of methamphetamine on to the ground.
Officers on a routine patrol saw the 33-year-old unemployed gang member driving in the City overnight, in breach of a driving suspension.
Attempting to get the man to pull over, it took several minutes for the offender's car to come to a stop.
The man was in an agitated state when he got out of his car, sweating profusely and shaking his head from side to side.
He told officers he had been out at a bar watching the State of Origin match and had consumed some mushrooms.
Arranging for toxicology tests to be done the officers took the man back to the central Hamilton Police Station where he began stripping off of his own accord, causing a point bag containing methamphetamine to fall out of his underwear.
The man was arrested and charged with breaching his community work, breaching release conditions, driving while suspended and possession of methamphetamine.
