Counties Manukau Police located the body of a baby at an Otahuhu address yesterday.
The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination is being undertaken.
A 22 year-old female has been charged with assault on a child and a 29 year-old male has been charged with concealing the body of a child. Both are appearing in the Manukau District Court today.
Police are unable to provide any further comment on the investigation or the possibility of any further charges until the results of the post-mortem examination are known.
