A 21-year-old Huntly man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body on waste land in the town last week.
The body of Wiremu Awa was found on some vacant land in Shaw St in Huntly last Tuesday. Police believe he died on or about 19 April.
The arrested man is due to appear in the Huntly District Court tomorrow on one charge of murder.
Detective Senior Sergeant Pete Jones said police were still keen to speak to anyone who may have information about Mr Awa's death.
"Our investigation is by no means over and we are still interested in speaking with anyone who knows anything about Mr Awa's death. Someone may have seen some suspicious activity in the area of Shaw St over the last few weeks or may know something that would be helpful to us," Mr Jones said.
Anyone with information about the death should ring 0800 YOUR HELP (0800 9687 4357).
