Police investigating the death of Dick Pere in Waitarere Beach Forest have undertaken a leaflet drop in the Waitarere community to try and piece together Mr Pere’s last movements.
Leaflets have been delivered to each home picturing a silver Daewoo Nubira similar to the burnt car Mr Pere was discovered in approximately 7.20am on Wednesday, 4 May.
Residents are being asked whether they saw the vehicle before the fire between the hours of 1am and 7.20am.
Mr Pere’s death is being treated at this stage as unexplained.
