Police have released the name of a woman whose body was found on the verge of SH24 near Matamata early today.
She was Catherine Matson, 43, of Matamata.
Police say preliminary inquiries indicate Ms Matson was the victim of a road traffic accident and an investigation continues into her death. Police had received information from the public that had helped their inquiries.
Police cannot confirm the cause of death until a post mortem is held tomorrow.
