Five caught drink driving in Feilding

1 min read

Police are disappointed after catching five drink drivers in Feilding in just a few hours last night.

The Traffic Alcohol Group from Palmerston North carried out random checkpoints in Feilding and surrounding areas throughout the evening. No drink drivers were identified in the more rural locations, but between 7pm and 1am five men who were over the limit were stopped either heading into or out of the Feilding township.

All were driving on 100k/ph roads and one driver blew 1086, nearly three times the 400 limit.

Senior Sergeant Nick Dobson of the Central District Traffic Support Unit said: "Feilding has suffered enough tragedy in recent weeks. It is disappointing and extremely frustrating that irresponsible drivers are willing to put even more lives at risk."
