Police on the North Shore and in Rodney have carried out raids on two local properties, and seized chemicals capable of being used in the manufacture and production of methamphetamine.
Officers from both the Rodney CIB and North Shore CIB, assisted by the Auckland Armed Offenders Squad, uncovered the various chemicals when they executed search warrants in Riverhead and Albany, today.
Officer in Charge of the Rodney CIB, Detective Sergeant Hayden Mander, says chemicals capable of being used in the manufacture and production of methamphetamine, were located at the Riverhead residence.
"A number of firearms including two shotguns and two rifles were also found at the address," he said.
"Simultaneously, Officers from the North Shore CIB, went to a storage unit in Albany, where they uncovered equipment and glassware capable of being used for the production and manufacture of methamphetamine, plus a larger quantity of chemicals."
A 27 year old male has been arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, and possession of firearms.
The man is to appear in the North Shore District Court tomorrow.
