Three Members of the North Shore Team Policing unit were treated at North Shore Hospital last night, after an incident at an address in Glenfield.
Police were executing a routine search warrant, at a property in Mayfield Crescent Glenfield, when they stumbled across a Clandestine Methamphetamine Lab, in the boot of a car, parked at the address.
Three police officers who were in the immediate vicinity were overcome by fumes, and were immediately taken to North Shore Hospital for treatment.
They were all discharged early this morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant Gary Davey, Acting Area Response Manager, North Shore Police, says this was a blow to us on both an operational and very personal level.
"Forensic examination and disassembly of these labs occupies a significant resource, let alone having to face the issues around our staff being harmed"
"The good news is the officers are now home getting some rest with their families and all very keen to get back to work as soon as possible," Senior Sergeant Davey said.
Two Glenfield men have been arrested and will appear in the North Shore District Court this morning on serious drug charges. A third man has been charged with lesser offences and will appear in Court next week.
