Two-year-old Aaliyah Wrigley, from Dannevirke was killed along with her 36-year-old father, Jonathon Wrigley who was the driver of a Holden Commodore. Aaliyah's 29-year-old mother, who was the only other occupant in the Holden remains in a serious condition in Palmerston North Hospital.

Also killed was 73-year-old Cicely Bramley from Ormondville who was the driver of the other vehicle, a Holden Cruze. Her friend, a 57-year-old woman from Matamau who was the only other occupant of that car, is in a serious but stable condition in Palmerston North Hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
