At 11.25 am today a male entered the Westpac bank on Seaview Road New Brighton. He handed a note to the teller, received a sum of money in return and left in a taxi.

Police have subsequently searched an address but have not located the person.

Detective Sergeant Ken Legat says he believes this robbery could be linked to the robbery which occurred yesterday at the BNZ in the city and Central CIB are investigating.

The man is described as:

30- 40 years old
olive skin
tatoos on his neck and hand
wearing a brown check shirt
a hood
a cap
grey track pants

Police are making positive inquiries as to his identification and may be able to release more information later today.

Please do not call Detective Sergeant Legat, we shall keep you up to date when more information is available.
