A 21-year-old man has appeared in the District Court at Morrinsville today (Tuesday, 2 March) charged with manslaughter and driving with excess blood alcohol causing injury following a fatal car crash on State Highway 2 at Papatawa in December.
The crash happened just after midnight on Sunday, 6 December when a Toyota Corolla travelling between Dannevirke and Palmerston North crashed into the side barriers of a rail over-bridge.
Andrea Pramm, aged 22, from Bulls, died as a result of injuries received in the crash. Shaylah Lawson, aged 18, from Dannevirke, is still in hospital recovering from injuries she received in the crash.
The 21-year-old Morrinsville man has been bailed to reappear in the District Court at Dannevirke on 9 April.
