Four men will be appearing in the Porirua District Court tomorrow morning charged with cannabis dealing offences after Porirua Police smashed what is believed to be a tinny house operation.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Fabish, Porirua CIB, says police seized significant amounts of drugs in the operation – one kilogram of cannabis, a further 250 cannabis ‘bullets’, a rifle and $250,000 in cash which detectives believe is linked with the offending.
Those arrested are all local Porirua men aged 52 years, 45 years, 28 years and 27 years.
"The information which tipped us off came from concerned parents and teachers from local Porirua secondary schools. They believed children were obtaining cannabis from the group of men.
"We’re pleased they told us about it and would encourage other people to do the same if they become aware of drug sales taking place in their neighbourhoods."
