National manager road policing appointed

Inspector Dave Cliff, Policing Development Manager of Southern Police District, has been appointed National Manager: Road Policing.

Inspector Cliff has extensive experience across a wide range of policing including general duties, CIB and road policing. He served for three years as Southern District Road Policing Manager and was Acting Area Commander for Dunedin/Clutha, prior to his appointment as Southern Policing Development in August last year.

Inspector Cliff joined Police in 1983 and has served in North Shore Waitakere, Wellington, Office of the Commissioner, Tasman, Waikato, Canterbury and Southern District.

Inspector Cliff will take up the role, at the rank of Superintendent, in about six weeks time.
