The driver of a van that crashed after clipping a truck on SH2 near Ngatea last week has been charged.
The crash, which happened shortly after 7am on Wednesday, claimed the life of a 58-year-old woman who was working in New Zealand as a seasonal fruit picker.
She was Elizabeth IAVNAM of Tauna Island, Vanuatu.
The van driver has been charged with careless driving causing death and two charges of careless driving causing injury and is appearing in the Hamilton District Court today.
Wednesday's crash took the Waikato's road toll to 32 compared to 37 for the same period last year.
