1 min read

At about 10.20 pm last night a man was assaulted in the central city.
On Tuesday 1 September 2009, the victim was in the central city where he was approached by a female. The female got into the victim's car and on instruction from the female he drove into a carpark situated on the corner of Madras Street and Gloucester Street. Whilst in the carpark two males materialised and started to kick and punch the male demanding his money. The female also participated in this activity.

A short time later, the victim was forced into the passenger seat. The female and two males then drove the victim east along Gloucester Street where the victim was able to disable the motor vehicle and escape.

The female and males have decamped through Christchurch East School.

The victim has suffered extensive facial injuries and is still in hospital undergoing treatment.

Police would like to speak to the male on the skateboard who assisted the victim when he was outside the Christchurch East School and ask that if anyone has seen any activity in the Madras Street/Gloucester Street area and the Gloucester Street area in the vicinity of Christchurch East School that they contact the Christchurch Central CIB and speak to Detective Sergeant Leairne DOW.
