Police hunt ram raiders

1 min read

Police are hunting a group of men who ram raided the Caltex Service Station on SH1 at Sanson early this morning (Friday, 24 July).

The incident occurred around 4.30am this morning when at least two men smashed through the front entrance doors in a stolen Ute. The men then removed the large cigarette cabinet from the shop area and loaded it on the back of the Ute. No one was in the shop at the time.

The Ute, which was stolen from Foxton Beach overnight last night, and the cabinet were both located in the Foxton area later in the morning.

Both men who were in the store were wearing hoodies, one a green and white, check and the other a black and grey check. They also had their faces covered.

It is believed that trucks drove past the service station while the offence was being committed.

A search warrant was executed in the Foxton area this afternoon and police are following some positive lines of enquiry.
