Hamilton CBD crash release 2
Hamilton Police investigating a crash that left a motorcyclist in a critical condition in the central city yesterday are appealing for a motorist to come forward.
Acting Sergeant Myles O'Donnell of the Hamilton Strategic Traffic Unit said the crash happened on Anglesea St near the intersection with Rostrevor St about 1pm.
"It appears a red Mazda has pulled out of a driveway on Anglesea St intending to head south when it has been struck by a northbound blue Honda motorcycle."
"The 25-year-old male rider suffered very serious head injuries while the female driver of the Mazda suffered minor injuries but had to be cut from her car."
While several people had been interviewed by Police since the crash Mr O'Donnell said there was one driver officers were very keen to speak to.
"We'd like to speak to the driver of a grey van who the crash happened in front of who steered around the scene and drove off.
"This person may have seen something that may be crucial to our investigation in establishing just what happened," he said.
Anyone who witnessed the crash who hasn't been interviewed by Police is asked to contact Mr O'Donnell on 07 858 6200.
