1 min read

The names of the three climbers killed earlier today at Ball Pass near Mt Cook have been released:

The guide was Erica Jane BEUZENBERG, aged 41 of Fairlie, (released earlier).

Also John LOWNDES, aged 59, a salesman from Stoke on Trent, England.

Also Kazuhiro KOTANI, aged 29, of Hyogo, Japan.

The bodies will remain where they are until the weather clears enough to remove them. This could be several days.

There have been seven deaths at Ball Pass since park records began. This is the first fatal climbing accident at Mt Cook Aoraki Park this climbing season.
