Old bones confirmed

1 min read

Police have established that the bones found on a building site near Ngaruawahia on Tuesday are over 100 years old.

A skull and other bones were found at the site when workmen were digging a drain on the property. The bones have been examined by a forensic pathologist, who dates them at a "minimum" of 100 years old.

Police plan to return the bones to Tainui and are currently in discussions with the tribe as to the appropriate course of action that should be taken.
