On Tuesday 14 December 2004, Hastings Police executed a series of search warrants in the Hastings and Flaxmere areas in relation to drug offending.
To date 7 people have been arrested and charged with a variety of offences including cultivating cannabis, possession of cannabis, producing a precursor substance and receiving stolen property.
One Flaxmere address was placed under police guard while an out of town forensic team examined items found in a shed. Police believe the items found were part of a "Meth Lab", and substances found relate to the manufacture of methamphetamine although it will be some time before analysis is completed. One of the occupants of this address was arrested and charged with "producing a precursor substance".
This operation was part of an ongoing focus the Hastings Police has on drug offending in the area particularly offences relating to methamphetamine.
