The woman who died in Aotea Square in the early hours of Wednesday morning was Maria de Silva, a 53 year-old Mangere resident who worked as a sales representative.
Police have notified next of kin and are investigating the circumstances around her death on behalf of the Coroner.
Officer in charge of the inquiry a series of arsons on the same night, Detective Senior Sergeant Jon Moss, said the inquiry team hoped to complete the scene examination at the badly damaged Guardian Trust building today.
"We’ll also be looking closely at video surveillance footage and evaluate its value to the inquiry," he said.
"The inquiry now has an 0800 number -- 0800 80FIRE, or 0800 803473 and we encourage anyone who has information about the Tuesday night and Wednesday morning fires to contact us via that number."
