Volunteers build safer communities
Volunteers build safer communities
In Volunteer Awareness Week, Police would like to acknowledge the thousands of people who help build safer communities together.
Police volunteers work from police stations or community bases. Many have close association with Police through family or through previous employment.
In addition, thousands of other volunteers work alongside police through other organisations, including
- Neighbourhood Support New Zealand
- Land Search & Rescue
- Blue Light Ventures
- Maori Wardens
- Community Patrols of New Zealand
- Victim Support
- Police Dog Section puppy development programme.
Volunteers perform a critical role and are greatly appreciated by Police and their communities.
