New presenter for Police Ten 7
New Zealand Police welcomes the appointment of Detective Sergeant Rob Lemoto, of Tauranga, as the new presenter of the Police Ten 7 television programme.
Rob’s first episode at the helm of the long-running and ever-popular series is this Thursday (18 September) at 7.30pm on TV2.
“Rob is a very skilled, experienced and capable investigator with a good grasp of contemporary policing,” says Karen Jones, Deputy Chief Executive: Public Affairs.
“He is used to working with a variety of people from different backgrounds, and with victims. We’re confident he will be an excellent ambassador for NZ Police in his new role.”
Rob joined NZ Police in 1996 and has worked in Counties Manukau and in the Western Bay of Plenty in a variety of general duties and CIB positions.
He spent seven months last year in Arawa, Bougainville, as part of a NZ Police programme mentoring local officers.
He is no stranger to Police Ten 7, having first appeared on the show in 2004 as a case officer investigating an aggravated robbery in Mt Maunganui.
Police, the Screentime NZ producers and TVNZ were all impressed with the high calibre of the nearly 50 officers who applied for the role.
