Back to where it all began
This weekend 12 teams from across the country return to Wellington for the 5th annual New Zealand Communities Football Cup.
The tournament brings together around 240 players from different ethnic communities to compete for the national cup.
This year includes the hometown team, Somalia, who returns to try for a third title after winning the inaugural tournament in 2008 and the last tournament in 2011.
The New Zealand Police owned event was established to contribute practically towards our vision of ‘Safer Communities Together’, provide an opportunity for positive interaction amongst communities and a desire to use football to help drive positive social change.
