June 2016
This month's featured narrative describes how a Counties-Manukau school reduced truancy and lateness through partnering with Police in a school-wide intervention to address the issue.
The impact could be easily assessed because the intervention used specific data to set a baseline (25–30 students late per day), and set a measurable long-term goal (to reduce lateness to 2–5 students per day). At the end of the intervention, the same source of data was then used to measure the impact of the goal (a reduction to only 1 or 2 students late per day, usually with valid reasons).
This narrative can be found in the Narratives section of the School Portal.
