This chapter details key provisions in the Coroners Act 2006, Police responsibilities as agents of the Coroner, and the Police practices for responding to deaths. It is designed as a base chapter for sudden death procedures to be read in conjunction with other chapters for specialist groups who also have a role with sudden deaths, i.e., National Crime Group (Homicide and Serious Crime Investigations), Dive Squad, Search and Rescue and Disaster Victim Identification.
